The science behind our facials

pH Labs uses a variety of science- and research-based technologies during facial treatments.  These include:

  • Radio Frequency Technology (RF) – Renowned for its skin-tightening capabilities. By delivering controlled heat to the deep layers of the skin, RF stimulates collagen and elastin production, crucial proteins that provide structure and elasticity. Over time, as the skin’s natural repair process is activated, you can expect to see a significant reduction in wrinkles and fine lines, with skin becoming firmer, smoother, and more youthful in appearance.

  • High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Stimulation (HIFES) – Takes non-invasive facial sculpting to the next level by targeting the facial muscles directly. This technology induces supramaximal contractions not achievable through voluntary muscle actions, effectively re-educating and toning the facial muscles. The result? A more defined facial contour and lift, a more subtle and natural result compared to what one might expect from more invasive procedures like midface / cheek fillers.

  • Low-level LED light – Blue, red and near-infrared which penetrate the skin and trigger cellular activity, promoting healing and rejuvenation. It stimulates collagen production, reduces inflammation, improves circulation, and targets acne-causing bacteria.

  • Cryo T-Shock – Lowers the temperature of fat cells enough to cause apoptosis, which is triggered when the temperature of the fat tissue is between 12 C and 17 C.  This causes these cells to die; they are then naturally passed through the body’s lymphatic system and excreted through sweat and urine.

  • Almost anyone - man or woman, young or old - is a good candidate for one of our facials since each is custom tailored to your unique needs. 

  • None at all.  You can return to your normal routine and activities after your facial treatment.

  • LED devices are considered extremely low risk when used as intended.

  • Low-level-light therapy is based on light emitting diode (LED) technology developed for NASA-manned space flight experiments. In comparison to lasers, the patented LED technology generates negligible amounts of heat and is not considered a significant risk device.

  • Your skin should also be free of makeup, or anything else that may deflect any light treatments away from the skin. Clean, freshly washed skin is recommended for best results.

  • This treatment should not be used on children under 12, or over the breast or stomach of a breast-feeding or pregnant person.

  • Cryo T-Shock is not at all like Coolscuplting or other fat reduction treatments. Other methods of non-surgical fat removal primarily involve necrotic cell death, which solely involves damaging fat with heat, high-intensity ultrasound or chemical injections. With this therapy, and unlike the thermal shock effect delivered by Cryo T-Shock, the surrounding tissue isn’t preserved.  

  • Anyone with the conditions below should not do this treatment: 

    • Kidney disease or dialysis 

    • Pregnant women

    • Severe diabetes 

    • Undergoing chemotherapy

  • For best results, we recommend a facial every 4–6 weeks. This allows time for your skin to complete its natural regeneration cycle while maintaining a healthy, radiant complexion.

  • Absolutely. Many clients pair facials with red light therapy, IV nutrient boosts, or cryo T-shock body treatments for a full-body rejuvenation experience.
